The Saalt teen holds around 1-2 tampons worth of menstrual fluid, making it suitable for a light to normal level of flow.Dimensions: 37.7mm diameter | 65mm total length (including stem) | 15ml capacity How to use the Saalt Teen Cup: The first time you use your Saalt cup and at the end of each cycle, it is recommended to boil it for 4-5 minutes in order to properly sanitize it. Due the to softer nature of the Saalt Soft, it may take a bit more practice than firmer cups to master insertion.Check: Before inserting your Saalt cup, first check that the four air holes in the top rim of the cup are clear and free from any debris.Prepare: Wash your hands and thoroughly rinse off any soap residue.Fold: Decide on a fold. The most common folds for inserting a menstrual cup are the C-fold, Punch-down fold, and the 7-fold.Insert: With your cup folded and held firmly just below the upper rim, slide it up and back at a 45 degree angle towards the tip of your tailbone. Your cup should be completely inside the vaginal canal but sitting lower than a tampon. Your cup is sitting in the right place when the rim is below or around your cervix.Position: Release the cup. It should then pop open and create a seal. To ensure this seal has been created, rotate the cup by pinching the base (not just the stem) and turning it 360 degrees.Secure: To make sure the cup is fully opened and secure, run a finger around the base of the body of the cup to ensure there are no folds. You can also double-check the seal by gently tugging on the stem. If there is some resistance when you tug, you have a good seal.Remove: Wash your hands thoroughly. Stand, sit, or squat. Use the stem to locate the base of the cup. With your thumb and index finger, pinch the base of the cup to break the seal. Wiggle the cup side to side as you gently pull it out. Empty the contents of the cup into a sink or toilet.Rinse and Re-insert: Rinse your cup in cold water. You may also like to clean it with a menstrual cup cleanser. Your cup is then ready to re-insert. How to clean the Saalt Teen Cup: Sanitize: At the start and end of your period, sterilise your cup by boiling it in a pot of water for 4-5 minutes or by using the Saalt microwave cup steriliser. The cup storage bag can be cleaned by adding to your regular load of laundry.Wash: During your cycle, rinse your Saalt cup in cold water to help prevent staining. Use a menstrual cup cleanser to clean the cup. Avoid any cleanser containing fragrance or oils that may irritate your vagina or cause deterioration of your cup. Clear the four holes in the rim of the Saalt cup by running under water or gently poking with a toothpick.Store: Allow your cup to air dry thoroughly and store in its bag (or other breathable container) until next needed. Some discolouration may occur over time. This is normal.If your Saalt cup is broken or shows any sign of deterioration, it’s time to replace it. Saalt Teen Cup FAQ's Is the Saalt Teen Cup available in a Duo Box? No. Since the Saalt Teen is only available in one size and style, it is only available in single packs. Do I have to be a teenager to use the Saalt Teen Cup? No. The reason the Saalt Teen is suitable for younger users is because it is smaller, softer, and less intimidating for younger people starting out on their menstrual journey. However, If you are an adult who has a very small vaginal cavity or a very light level of flow, the Saalt Teen may also be perfect for you! Can the Saalt Teen be used as a form of contraceptive? The Saalt Teen Cup is not designed to be worn during sex, and no menstrual cups or discs are to be used as a form of contraception. They WILL NOT protect against pregnancy or STI’s. Can I swim and exercise while wearing the Saalt Teen Cup? Absolutely! If the cup has been inserted correctly, you can swim, run, jump, cartwheel, ride…do any activity you want, worry, string, and leak free, for up to 12 hours. Will I smell period odour while wearing the Saalt Teen Cup? No. If your cup is inserted correctly, you should not be able to smell any period odour. Will I have to empty my cup while at school? With the Saalt Teen having a capacity equal to 2 regular tampons, most people can wear their menstrual cup for several hours before needing to empty it. This means you should be able to get through a full day of school. However, if you have a very heavy flow, you may need to empty it before you get home.
