InsertionOnce your cup is sterilised, wash your hands before insertion.Decide on which fold you will use to insert the cup. The punch-down fold is the recommended fold to use with your Inoya cup.Squat or lift one leg and rest in on the toilet seat.Separate your labia and gently insert the folded cup into your vagina. The opening of the cup should be facing upwards and the loop should be facing downwards.Once the cup is fully inside your vagina, gently push on the bottom of the cup to help it open fully.To check correct positioning, run your finger around the base of the cup to ensure it has fully opened.You can now wear your cup for up to 12 hours (Depending on your level of flow) before needing to empty and re-insert it.RemovalWash your hands and sit in a comfortable position on the toilet. The shower is also a great place to remove a cup.Carefully open your labia with your thumb and forefinger. If you can’t feel your Inoya cup stem, bear down gently with your pelvic floor muscles to push it lower down the vaginal canal.Use one finger to hook the loop of the cup and another finger to gently push the side of the cup and release the seal.Once the seal is broken, gently remove the cup by pulling it out by the loop.Empty the contents into the toilet, rinse under cold water or wipe with toilet tissue, and then re-insert. How to clean the Inoya Cup: Sanitize: At the start and end of your period, sterilise your cup by immersing it in boiling water for 4-5 minutes or by using the Inoya microwave steriliser. Wash: During your cycle, rinse your Inoya cup in cold water to help prevent staining. Use a menstrual cup cleanser to clean the cup. Avoid any cleanser containing surfactants, fragrance, alcohol, or oils that may irritate your vagina or cause deterioration of your cup. Store: Allow your cup to air dry completely and then store it in its cotton bag (or other breathable container) until your next period. Some discolouration may occur over time. This is normal.If the silicone of your Inoya cup is sticky or shows any sign of deterioration, it’s time to replace it. Inoya Period Cup FAQ's Will I feel the stem of the Inoya Cup? The loop stem of the Inoya cup is very soft and should not create any discomfort. If the loop is protruding from the vagina, you can trim it with scissors to make it shorter. Be sure that you are able to remove it without the use of the loop before trimming it off. You may also have a very low cervix and may need a shorter Inoya cup. I have strong pelvic floor muscles, will the Inoya cup be suitable for me? The Inoya Period Cup is a softer silicone with a softer rim than many other brands of menstrual cup. The Inoya cups are very soft and an excellent option for people who experience discomfort or urethra pressure from firmer rimmed menstrual cups. Does the Inoya Cup have measuring lines to help keep track of my flow? No, the Inoya cups do not have any measuring lines, however, as a guide, the Mini Inoya holds 15ml (2 tampons), the Regular Inoya holds 22ml (2.5 tampons), and the Inoya Super holds 28ml (3 tampons). Is the Inoya Cup suitable for a low cervix? Yes. The Inoya is an excellent choice for people with a low cervix position.
